We operates three gas processing plants (GPPs) strategically located within the oil fields across the Kazakhstan region. Additionally, gas and natural gas liquids are processed at the Norther region of the Refinery and within our petrochemical complex in the country Territory. These processing plants specialize in converting associated petroleum gas into liquid hydrocarbons and marketable gas.
While the potential for gas infrastructure in the Eastern part of the country has garnered interest among oil and gas producers, significant challenges persist. Our commitment to developing this particular area of activity spans over six years, a testament to the complexities involved.
Currently, plans are underway to initiate the general processing of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in the first half of 2019. Simultaneously, the delivery of propane and butane to the company's respective clients will commence. The initial dispatch of LPG is projected to reach 160,000 tonnes per year, with a substantial portion transported via railroad to both domestic and international markets.
This advancement will significantly benefit the local mobility sector, offering car drivers and public transportation systems access to more affordable fuel options while contributing to a cleaner environment. Moreover, this presents a significant opportunity for the LPG industry to substitute traditional gasoline and diesel fuel in river vessels, marking a pivotal shift toward cleaner energy alternatives.
